Calculators that show their work.

A glossary tells you what a term means and a quiz walks your situation through a rule. These produce a number, and then show you every step that produced it, so you can check it against your own books instead of trusting a black box.

Nothing here asks who you are. No sign-up, no email, no export gate. Your figures stay in your own browser and disappear when you close the tab.

Tools (1)

No sign-up, no email, nothing stored. None of these asks who you are. What you type stays in the browser tab and disappears when you close it. This site sets no cookie, writes nothing to local storage and has no form on it. See the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy, which say the same thing at length. That matters more here than it does elsewhere on this site: a company’s indirect rates are close to its cost structure, and they should not have to be handed to anyone in exchange for arithmetic.

Every result is an estimate, not a determination. A rate is only as good as the accounting system that produced it, and nothing on a web page can see that system. The long-form explanations behind these tools live in the glossary, and the decision-shaped versions live in the quizzes.

Run the real version against a real pursuit.

Silas™ carries a company’s own rate structure into the cost estimate on a live solicitation, next to the hours and the basis of estimate that justify them. These pages are the manual version of single steps of that.
